ASA
Indications/Uses
Prevention of platelet aggregation process in MI & unstable angina patients; temporary ischemic cerebral attack.
Dosage/Direction for Use
80-160 mg daily.
Administration
Should be taken with food: Take w/ or immediately after meals. Swallow whole, do not chew/crush.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity including asthma. Peptic ulcer, varicella/chicken pox & flu symptoms; suffering from SC bleeding; anticoagulant therapy; haemophilia & thrombocytopenia. 3rd trimester of pregnancy. Childn <12 yr.
Special Precautions
Discontinue immediately when tinnitus, impaired hearing or dizziness occurs. Dehydration. Consult physician for persistent gastric disturbances. Alcohol intake may increase gastric bleeding. Hepatic impairment. Pregnancy & lactation.
Adverse Reactions
GI irritation & bleeding, nausea, vomiting, peptic ulcer, dyspnoea attack, skin reaction, thrombocytopenia.
